Hervey Bay

Im watching the tv show Making Tracks and they were visiting Hervey Bay, and the coloured sands sounds like an amazing place to have have a look at as part of my travels. I would love to hear if you have been. Any good tips of things to see on Hervey Bay?????

The Road Less Travelled is a dream of mine that will hopefully take me all around Australia visiting the small towns that make this country so great.
We all know that Australia has great tourist destinations like The Great Barrier Reef, Great Ocean Road, Sydney Opera House etc, i want to discover the hidden treasures of this country, places and towns that wouldn't normally be on the tourist map and some places that have probably never been heard of.

I would love to hear of any suggestions of towns that i could visit, or experiences that you have had of towns that are not on the map!
